I Slowly dragged myself along the ground on my stomach. My leg felt like it was broken, and I could not bear the pain when trying to stand up. So hand over hand, I pulled at the weeds and small saplings, as I pushed myself forward, using my one my good foot. It took me some time, but I finally made it up the embankment, and reached the edge of the road. I heard a few cars going by, as I struggled to get out of the car, and a couple more as I was crawling through the wet muddy ditch. I only hoped, there would be more now, that I was where some one might see me. It was cold, and I could see my breath. My clothes were dirty and soaking wet, but I was numb, and I guess in shock from the accident. I didn't feel cold, or afraid, and my mind was alert, and as sharp as a tack. I sat on the gravel on the side of the highway, and waited for some kind of help. How did this happen I thought. What was the other driver thinking. I thought of my girlfriend pinned inside the car. Her legs were caught between the seat and the dashboard, and she busted her mouth on the steering wheel. Other than that, she seemed to be alright, but she was very frightened, and in shock too. I told her I'd be back with some help. My girlfriend Stacy and I, had gotten dressed up, and went to a Halloween contest party, at a famous watering hole, about fifty miles from the college. The Boogeyman's pub. Stacy was dressed as a witch, with a see through, very short black dress, and the tall pointed hat that went along with it. She wore black lipstick and was absolutely gorgeous. I was dressed as a prostitute. Lot's of makeup, bright red lipstick, a gold miniskirt, and of coarse fishnets, and high heels. Damn girl, we look sexy, I said looking in the mirror. We really do said Stacy. We giggled and headed for the car. Stacy and I were actually very sheltered girls growing up. We both lived on farms in the mid west. I wouldn't say we were prudes, but we were very cautious of who we spoke or associated with. We were good girls. Both of us excelled in high school and had free Scholar ships for college. Neither of our parents could have afforded us to go otherwise. This was our second semester away from home, and we decided it was time to party, and meet some boys. Stacy won the contest, she was paraded through the place on top of the bar. It was crazy. I was a bit jealous that she had won. She was getting all the attention, and I was stuck with the losers, getting hit on by some nerdy drunk boys. I watched this real handsome guy even try and kiss her. Stacy backed right off and came down off the bar. Everyone began to boo her. She made her way over to me. I could see in her eyes, that she was afraid. She said to me, let's leave Karen, I have a bad feeling. Most of the boys, I guess I should say young men, were drunk. The ones that were near the bar where Stacy was paraded, were now pushing their way through the crowd, and in our direction. It would be nice if they kissed me I thought. Suddenly, I felt a hand on my leg. It squeezed. It was no accident. Okay Stacy I said a bit unnerved, maybe you are right. Let's get out of here and back to the dorm. As Stacy started the engine, some of the men were exiting out of the pub door, it seemed, coming after us. Stacy put the car into drive and squealed the wheels as she hurriedly pull out onto the highway. She was driving very fast for about ten minutes. Seeing no one following us, she slowed down and did the speed limit. After the frightful feelings dissipated, we began to talk about the evening, the contest, and mostly the boys. As scary as it was, it was really exciting I said. It was alright said Stacy, but once is enough for me. Didn't you like the boys I asked? I would have given anything for that one boy to have tried to kiss me. I would have let him I said. Karen, said Stacy, those young men were drunk, and well look at us, what do you think they wanted. I thought about the hand on my leg, I guess you are right I told her, but inside, the thought of that hand on me, was for some reason, exciting me more that I could explain. Headlights slowly came up behind us in the distance. A car said Stacy nervously. Relax I said, We are long gone from there. If they were following us, they would have caught up by now. Stacy looked at me in horror, this is now, she exclaimed. It has to be them. The car passed us uneventfully. I laughed at her. You are so silly. We are okay now Stacy, we are safe. Again I told her to relax. We were about halfway back to school, and on a very desolate area of the highway. It was nothing but woods for miles. It was getting foggy, and mist was covering the windshield. It was pretty spooky looking, just what Halloween night should look like. Stacy, I said, have you ever been with a boy? Suddenly, out of nowhere, there was a car up in front of us just sitting in the middle of the road with it's lights off. They turned their lights on quick and bright. Stacy turned toward the side of the road. She just missed the car and over the embankment we went. We bounced around roughly inside the car, and reaching the bottom, crashed head on into a big oak tree. It was pitch black and we were in total silence. Then, the car on the road, pulled away screeching it's wheels, just like Stacy did leaving the bar. Stacy began to scream. I reached over and held her. My leg was on fire with pain. Are you alright I asked. She was half screaming and half crying. She was in hysterics. I calmed her the best I could. I reached my arm over her, and put the interior light on. Her mouth had some blood on it, and she was pinned in the car. Otherwise, she was alright. I was okay too, although my leg was broken. We were in the middle of nowhere, and down off the road, hidden in the woods . No one would ever find us here. I tried my cellphone but it was dead. Stacy was calmer now but still crying. Try your cell I told her. Stacy reached for her purse, but her phone was not there. It's not here, I can't find it, she moaned, tears running down her face. It will be okay I said. I will go get help. NOOOO she screamed. You can't leave me here alone. They are gonna come back. Settle down Stacy. Whoever that was won't be back. They probably think we are dead anyway. They would be in so much trouble if they were caught. I'm sure they are far away by now probably pissing there pants in fear, like little babies. Now sit tight while I go get help. Turn the light off, and only use it when you need it. Try and save the battery. Okay said Stacy, now a bit more relaxed. But please hurry Karen, please hurry. It was painful working my way out of the car. I couldn't stand. Using the car for balance I lowered myself to the ground. I would crawl on my knees if I had to, but I would get us help. When I put weight on my knee, the pain shot up into my head. I rolled over onto my back. The mist was changing to rain. The drops felt refreshing on my face. When the pain subsided,I turned my body over onto my stomach and began dragging myself toward the road. I heard the feint sound of a car engine running in the distance. I hope it is coming this way I thought. The sound became louder, then feint again. I could tell it was driving up and down the hills of the mountain highway. A few minutes later, I caught a small glimpse of the car's headlights bouncing off the low lying cloud cover. I could hear the engine steady and loud now. I tried to stand but the pain was too excruciating. I need to make sure the driver saw me. I would wave my hands. That should work just fine I thought. The car came and I was waving both hands back and forth like a madwoman. The car passed. They didn't see me. Suddenly the brake lights came on. Thank God I thought, they saw me. Then the brake lights went off, and I watch as the car disappeared around the bend in the road. I sat for an hour, drenched, tired, and in pain. I was worried about Stacy. She was not as strong as I was. This was a horrible ordeal all the way around and it would be really hard on her mentally. Again I heard an engine in the distance. What can I do to get their attention? I'll take off my clothes, surely no one would miss a naked woman on the road. I decided quickly, that that wasn't such a great idea, but as a last resort, I might just do it. I know, I'll use my shoes. I can throw them at the car. I took the shoe off my good foot first. When I tried the other, I couldn't bend the leg. I had one chance. One shot at hitting the car, and getting Stacy and me some help. The car was getting close and I was ready. I thought about the men in the bar. Surely that fear is no longer a worry. They must all be home in bed by now. I waited for the car to be right in front of me. I held my shoe by the heel and threw it as hard as I could at the side door. Bang! Direct hit, and it was loud. The wheels locked up and the car screeched to a stop. I did it. I got us some help. The white reverse lights came on, and the car was slowly backing up. I heard what sounded like men laughing. End part one. Part two. The man got out of the car and rushed over to my side. Oh my God he said, are you alright? What happened? I began to tell him the story and he stopped me and said, let me call 911. He took out his phone, and without even looking at it, said, oh I forgot, there is no service out here in the barrens. I'll have to take you to the hospital. Where is your friend? She is down there over the embankment still in the car. But I said, her legs are caught between the seat and the dash. Okay he said. I'll get you in the car and grab my tools. Everything will be fine. He lifted me off the ground like I was a feather. He was strong. And kind of good looking too, I might add. I felt safe in his arms. He put me in the car and then it hit me. I don't think I had said anything about Stacy being with me. I hadn't really said anything when he interrupted about calling 911. As he was getting his tools from the trunk, I heard the men laughing again. It was a program on the radio that he must have been listening to. He took the tools and disappeared over the bank. The program was some kind of christian radio show. It was men, discussing about the lower sin nature of mankind. I thought again. He must be a good man, I must have mentioned Stacy. Besides how else could he know unless I told him. I looked around the inside of the car. It was messy with food wrappers and empty coffee cups and water bottles. It appeared to me, that he spent a lot of time in his car. Then I saw it. In the back seat under his jacket, just the corner sticking out, was a bible. We had one home in the kitchen. There was no mistaking it, even seeing just the corner. I felt instantly at ease. God was watching over us, just like I was taught. I smiled to myself and closed my eyes. Soon Stacy and I would be at the hospital safe and sound. Our little nightmare would be over. The man came back to the car alone. What is the matter I asked. Your friend is stuck pretty good. I tried to loosening the bolts on the seat, but it still wouldn't move. I am going to need help to bend the seat away from the dash to release her. He looked into my eye's. I live just three miles up the road and my son is home. He can help. Yes I said we need to get Stacy out of the car. As he drove he said, my name is Jim. I'm Karen I said, thank you for stopping to help. I wouldn't have he said, I didn't see you. If it wasn't for the bang on the door, I'd be home in bed already. He turned onto a small dirt road and drove about a half mile to the end. There was his cabin. He carried me in and set me down on the couch. Shon, he called, Shon. A young man came out from another room. Yes dad he said. There was an accident down the highway. A woman is still stuck in the car and I need your help to get her free. This is my son Shon, said Jim, this is Karen. Hello Karen said Shon. He was handsome. Also he took after his father. He was big and strong. Hi Shon I said smiling. Let's get a move on we need to get Stacy. Will you be alright on your own Jim asked? Yes I said but please hurry. Stacy is my best friend and I know she is so frightened. It will all be okay he assured me. The two men left. I was happy to be in a warm dry place. Jim had given me two towels and a blanket before they left. I dried the best I could and put the blanket over me. The house was clean and neat. It had a comfortable lived in feeling. I was glad such nice people existed in the world. I could only imagine if those boy's from Boogeyman's had found us. Now that could have been real trouble. Yes God was watching over us. I heard a noise coming from the direction of the room where Shon had come from. I turned my head to look and see if I could see anything but I couldn't. Maybe it is a cat I thought. I was quiet, and listened hard for another sound. All was quiet. My imagination was starting to run away with itself. I calmed myself down and closed my eyes. We were gonna be alright. My eyes jolted open by the sound of the door. Jim and Shon were back. They were carrying Stacy and she was crying. Stacy, I said looking up at her. They sat her on the couch next to me. I thought you were dead she said. These men said you were safe but I didn't believe them. It is okay I said. They are good men. We are safe. Stacy's could not walk either. Her legs both had been slightly fractured in the accident being pinned under the dash. Can you take us to the hospital now Jim? Just then another young man came out from the room where Shon had come from. Then another. They were the boys from the pub. Stacy screamed and fainted. I looked at Jim in horror. How could I have been so wrong. Stacy was right. Please Jim, I begged, we need to go to the hospital. Please I begged? You're not going anywhere said the one young man. It was the handsome one who tried to kiss Stacy. The one I wished would have kissed me. Oh god I thought, this can't be happening. What are you gonna do with us I asked. What do you want us to do. We need to go to the hospital I repeated. What do you really want he said looking hard into my eyes? What do you mean I asked? I want to go to the hospital. He stared into my eye's as if he could see deep in my soul. I think he said, you want something more. He came close to me and one of them got behind me. He leaned his face down and close to mine. I must have been crazy to have wanted him to kiss me I thought. He put his lips to mine. My hands were free, but I didn't move. Suddenly the door opened. I opened my eye's again, only this time I was really awake. Jim and Shon had Stacy. She was safe. Karen, exclaimed Stacy. She ran to the couch and hugged me and held me tight. You're alright she said. I was so worried about you. The man said you were safe but I was so afraid. These are good men I said. They are our hero's. Jim and Shon smiled at one another. Well said shon, I wouldn't say hero's. Can we go to the hospital now I asked. Yes said Jim we can. This time it was Shon who carried me. I liked being in his arms. Stacy got in the backseat and Shon gently placed me in next to her. She put my seat belt on and held me again. Her head on my shoulder, I love you she said. Shon closed the door and got in to the front with his father Jim. I wished Shon had sat with me, instead of Stacy. I imagined it was him saying I love you. The dream, as awful as it seemed, had aroused me. I know I have Stacy, but I was longing for a man. Jim seemed kind of young to be Shon's father. He looked more like an older brother. Are you married Jim, I asked? No he replied. I haven't found the right girl yet. Then how do you have a son. You got me he said. Shon is just one of my friends. We were on our way to the hospital and that was all that counted. Jim drove down the dirt road and back onto the highway. He didn't turned left. Jim I said, the hospital is near our school. It's to the right. Jim was quiet and continued to drive in the opposite direction. Stacy looked at me in horror. She began to scream. Shon laughed and said, it's no use screaming, no one can hear you. We couldn't talk or even whisper without them hearing us. What are you going to do with us I asked them. Shon spoke up, we are bringing you both back to the Boogeyman and we're gonna finish the party of coarse. What did you think, you were gonna get away. Not a chance. We didn't drive you off the road just to let you go. It's Halloween in Hell'sville and you girls are the sacrifice. All the guys are waiting, and we are not gonna let them down, now are we. No sir, said Jim. Jim swerved almost hitting a deer. The fog was thick. Be careful said Shon. I ain't missing this party. Stacy was crying. I looked at her and tightened my face muscles, and bulged my eyes. The men were now watching the road in front of them intently as to not hit a deer. I was quiet and carefully slipped my panties off. I looked at Stacy and pulled my panties tight and made a chocking gagging face. She looked at me. I nodded my head and looked directly between her legs. She got it. She immediately slid her panties off and held them with both hands. At the same time, we reached over the seat and over their heads and pulled our panties tight around their necks. Pull hard I yelled and don't let go. Stacy screamed. Die you son of a bitch. You want in our panties, well here ya go. We both pulled as hard as we could. I thought Stacy was gonna break Jim's neck. Jim was chocking and so was Shon. We had them. Jim veered off the road but on the upper side. His foot was off the gas pedal and the car slowed to a stop on the hill. Keep pulling Stacy don't stop. In a few minutes, they were either dead or out cold. We didn't know which and we didn't care. Stacy got out and pulled Shon out of the car and onto the ground. Then she ran around and pulled Jim out too, kicking him in the face as she did. Drive Stacy I yelled, Drive. Stacy jumped into the drivers seat and floored it. She spun the wheels as the car fishtailed around to the direction of the hospital. This time there was no slowing down. I just sat in the back seat with my eyes glued to the road. We didn't need to hit a deer either. We were free. We made it to town in about a half an hour. Stacy slammed on the breaks right in front of the emergency room door, bringing the car to a screeching halt. She grabbed a wheel chair for me and in we went. The staff was all gone except for a skeleton crew. I looked behind the desk and the male nurse raised his head. It was the handsome guy. Hi girls he said, Happy Halloween. The End.
