     ... and Jay and Jordan just froze in their tracks. Water splashed over them all. What did we do said Jordan? I'm sorry said Jay. when they wiped the water from their eyes they looked into the dark water but saw nothing. There was dead silence. No one made a move. Suddenly, Mya spotted a little red fox watching them from the other side of the pond. It made her heart feel easier hoping it was her old friend Running Rabbit. Look she said, the fox. When the children turned to look, the fox was gone. What they saw instead were the three bears. The momma and her two babies climbing out of the water on the other side. Whew! The kids all sighed with relief. I think we are safe said Jordan, but it is dark out and we better get home. Pop pop and grandma must be worried sick by now. As the children turned to go back, something very big was swimming toward them from the street side of the pond. The water was churning and bubbling. Maybe it is the turtles again said Jay. I don't think so said Jordan. Everybody run. Run now. lead us out Jay, said Jordan, I will stay in the back of the line and keep us safe. Jay's feet sank deep into the mud. So did everyone else's. The water level was rising and the kids couldn't move fast at all. They watched in horror as the water churned toward them, and then it past right by. Foot after foot and one step at a time the children trudged through the mucky mud. Lilly and Christian lost their shoes in the mud, but they just kept moving toward the road. There it is again yelled Jordan. There's what, asked Mya frightened. The sound of something walking in the woods. The children listened. O my god screamed Mya, something is coming to get us. Move faster Jay, we have got to get out of here now. Everyone was moving as fast as they could. The creature in the woods was also moving faster. Then splash, right behind them. AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH They all started screaming. It stood up in the water very tall but it was so dark they could not see what it was. Then the thing walking in the woods jumped out and roared real loud. RRRROOOAAAARRRR. The children were now moving much faster as the path was back to dry land, and no more mud. It was so dark that they could not see anything and Jay ran right into,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Pop pop. It's Pop pop he yelled. Everyone screamed to Pop pop. save us save us! Then the thing in the water came close. It was Uncle Jonny. He had on his black wet suit and his snorkel. Hi guys, said uncle Jonny with a big grin. I have been watching you the entire time. Pop pop asked me to sneak into the pond from the back end. The first splashes you heard were me. The others were the bears. What about the creature in the woods asked Jordan? Just then Uncle Ben popped out. Ha, I was keep an eye on you from the woods. I too, was here all day said Ben smiling. Grandma has a nice warm dinner waiting for us. So let's get going home. Pop pop, said Mya, I'm sorry we listen very well. Well Mya, said Pop pop, and the rest of you too. You did all stay together and that is what I wanted. I was up the road when Jay fell in, and I just kept my distance to let you have some fun. It was scary said Lilly holding tight to pop pop. Yes said Mya it was scary. Yea said Jay. But it was fun pop pop, said Jordan. Christian just smiled and was happy to be safe. Uncle Ben and Uncle Jonny laughed. Being little was such fun. This reminded me of when we were little. Everyone finally reached the road. Uncle Zacky poo, was there with his big truck and everyone climbed in. They were home in a minute. The children all changed into dry clean pajamas and sat at the table to eat. So, said grandma, did you all have fun? Yes we had fun said Mya, we learned a good lesson too. Next time we go feed the ducks, that's what we will do. No exploring right Jordan? Right Jordan? Jordan? Jordan, said grandma, it's time to wake up. Wake up little one said grandma. Mommy and daddy are here to pick you up. Jordan opened his eyes. Where am I, he asked. You fell asleep on the couch as soon as you sat down. You have been sleeping all day. Mya and I made cookies. But we were at the pond. All of us, said Jordan. Me and Mya, and aunt Jenns kids, Jeramiah, Lilly, and Christian. You know Aunt Jenn doesn't have kids, said grandma. You must have been dreaming. But it was real , said Jordan. Well Jordan said Amanda, I have some news for you. We just found out that Aunt Jenn is pregnant. She is going to have a baby. Wow said Jordan. Really, said Mya? Yes really said Amanda. Ok kids, said Kenny, let's give grandma and poppop great big hugs and get moving. We have a long drive home. I love you yelled Mya, waving from the car window. Me too, yelled Jordan from the other window. Amanda and Kenny waved too as the car pulled away. Pop pop and grandma waved back. We love you all too. See you next time............
