The Adventures of Mya and Jordan The Adventure at the Zoo Part 4 The end They all hit the water with arms and legs flipping and flapping. Down under the water they went. They swam deeper and deeper holding their breath. When they were about three quarters of the way through, Mya was tired and losing her breath. Ayla too. All of a sudden Jordan felt a tug on his leg. So did Max. Ayla grabbed Jordan's rope and Mya was holding tight to Maxes. The boys used all the strength they had to help pull the girls along. Both Ayla and Mya were also kicking their legs and using one free arm to help. Just as before the boys were just about out of breath and bam, there was the light. They surfaced as fast as they could and brought the girls to the top also. Jordan pushed Ayla up onto the dry dirt and Max pushed up Mya. We made it said Jordan. Good job everyone. After resting for a few minutes, and taking off the ropes, they stood up and went to the door. Looking back, Max noticed the water was rising on this side as well. We better hurry Jordan the water is still rising. Again Jordan knocked, and again no one answered. He turned the door handle and they all went in. Max went to the door on the left and opened it. It was only a closet. The other door must be the way out. Jordan opened the door. It opened into a long hallway with doors on both sides. There were hundreds of them. Oh said Mya, which one will lead us out. Max listened closely by the first door. He didn't hear anything, so it opened it. It is an animal stall said max. Jordan opened a door on the other side off the hall. This one is a stall too, he said. Then Mya and Ayla opened two more doors. Stalls they said. This must be where the animals stay during the winter said Jordan. The children began running up the long hall opening door after door, only to find stalls. The last door, was on the right side of the hall. The children stopped and listened. It was quiet. Just another stall they thought. My feet are wet said mya. Mine to said Ayla. Oh no said Max, it is still rising. This door better not be a stall too. With that he burst through the door only to find another long hallway of doors. He let out a moan. Jordan was now looking at the wall. He saw a line on the wall all the way down the first hall. It reminded him of the river by the cornfield where Mya and him met their friend Running Rabbit. I wish Running Rabbit were here now he thought. Right at that exact moment a ground hog ran out of one of the stalls. It must have been hiding under the straw said Max. Perhaps said Jordan, his mind still thinking of his old friend. The groundhog ran up the second hallway. Let's open the doors quickly said Ayla. Good Idea said Max. Jordan looked at Mya. Mya should we open the doors, or follow that groundhog. Mya's eye's opened wide and goosebumps covered her all over. Follow the ground hog Mya screamed. It is Running Rabbit. Thee children all ran up the second hall following the groundhog. Ayla and Max were confused. Max said Ayla, that's not a running rabbit, that's a running groundhog. As the children ran up the hall their legs began to tire. At the end of this hall, it turned right, and another long hallway of doors. The groundhog was almost to the end of that hall when the kids turned the corner. My legs said Mya. Mine too said Jordan. Ayla and Maxes legs also were getting very tired. We are going up hill said Jordan. That's why our legs are so tired. The floor was dry and no water was in sight. They stopped to rest. ok said jordan, let's start moving again. It took a while to walk the many long hallways, and they were all the same. All were long, and all had animal stalls, and all were heading slowly upwards. Finally at last, the hallways came to an end. It was a T. We could go right or left. There was only one door in each hall, and that was all the way at the end. Use the map Jordan said Ayla. The map was to wet to refold, said Jordan, I left it in the tunnel. Jordan thought for a minute and then said, we have turned left all through the tunnel. We have turned right all through the hallways of stalls. We are going back to the top. Go right, Jordan proclaimed. The children all went to the right. They had been in the halls for quite a while now. They were all dry. It took just a few minutes to reach the end of this hall. Mya opened the door. It was the outside. In fact, not only was it the outside, it was the entrance to the small shed, right by the bathroom, by where they had lunch. Looking past the tree with the big old hole, they saw Alex, Kim, and Amanda. They were packing up the picnic. Ayla, called Aunt Alex. Max honey, called Aunt Kim. Mya and Jordan, let's go, said Amanda. Here we are. Here we are. The children ran to their moms and threw their arms around them. I missed you so much mom, said Ayla. Mom, you have to check this out. We got sucked downinto a tree into tunnels under the zoo, said Max. Mya and Jordan grabbed Amanda and squeased her tight. Thanks for being our mom they said. Alright everyone, said Amanda, let's hop to it. It's getting late and we have to finish our walk around the zoo. As they finished their walk down the path, they stopped and looked at the snake pit. Ewe said Mya and Ayla. Jordan and Max climbed up on the wall to see better. Look said Jordan. There's a wooden door. I'm sure glad you didn't open that one said max. Me too said Jordan laughing. Last but not least they hit the swings for a few minutes. Why are you guy's not going on the sliding board asked Amanda? The children looked at each other and all at once said, we have had enough sliding boards for one day. They all walked toward the exit door of the zoo. The same one, they came in. I'm starving said Max. What about that hotdog mom. Mya and Ayla just wanted a shirt that said Space Farms Zoo and Museum. Not that they would ever forget. Jordan wanted only one thing. He wanted a new map. What happened to your old one asked the lady? Jordan smiled. I lost it he said. The woman handed him a new one and he put it right in his pocket. Can we go up stairs in the museum mom, asked Jordan? Not today Jordan said Amanda. It is getting late and we have to get home. Outside the door Amanda, Alex, and Kim, had the kids all sit on the big stone lion and took some pictures. Ok, said Aunt Kim, everyone hold hands while we cross the street. They got to the cars and said their fair wells. As they pulled out of the parking lot, the cars all had to stop. There was a big groundhog crossing the road. I swear he turned and winked at all the kids. Jordan and Mya smiled. They all waved goodbye, and off they went. I hope you had a great time at the Zoo today, and I will see you the next time, in, The Adventure's of Mya and Jordan.
