The Adventures of Mya and Jordan Play date at Pop pop's part three
Just then from under the water, hundreds of little baby painter turtles emerged from the dark murky water, and were all around the boys. Jordan laid his hand flat in the water and two of the turtles swam right on it. Oh they are so cute, he said. Jay was still scrambling his way out of the pond. The turtles were freaking him out. Get them off, get them off he cried. Lilly, Christian, and Mya, just laughed and laughed. The turtles won't hurt you Jay, said Jordan, they just want the bread that you fell in the pond with. Sure enough, Jordan was right. All the baby turtles were eating the tiny bits of bread and crackers floating in the water. Jordan slowly worked his way out and up onto dry land. They watched the turtles feeding in a frenzy. As soon as the bread was gone, the babies quickly disappeared back under the water. I wonder where they came from said Lilly. I think they came from back in the wooded end of the pond said Jay. Yes said Mya, that must have been the bubbly looking water we saw coming toward us. Let's go investigate, said Jordan already walking in the direction of the woods. But, But, the splash, the big splash, said Christian. Those baby turtles didn't make that splash. Lilly thought for a moment then said, and there were two big splashes. More the reason we should go and see said Jordan. What about Pop pop, said Mya. We are all together said Jay. Now let's go while it is still light out. The kids began to walk around the pond toward the dark woods. As they got closer to the woods, the pond was slowly turning swampy. The path they were on was now soggy and wet. Each step they took, began to get scarier and scarier. The trees blocked the light and it was getting darker and darker too. Quiet said Jordan, I heard something. Jordan was first, then Jay, Mya, Lilly, and Christian. Everyone stopped and listened. What did you hear Jordan, asked Mya? I'm not sure but it sounded like something big stepping on leaves and sticks further back in the woods. Maybe it is the bears Mya said. We should turn and leave right now. No said Jay, we have to keep going. We need to see what's back there. The children all continued their journey forward deeper into the woods. The path was now just wet and muddy. Each step they took, their little feet sunk into the mud up to their ankles. It was late in the day and the sun was heading down. The woods were getting darker and more scary than ever. Let's go back home whined Lilly. Yes said Mya, let's go home. Christian was really afraid, but did not say a word. He was following the big boys. Pop pop said we have to stay together Mya, said Jordan, and we are almost to the end of the pond. Jordan turned back toward the dark and began to walk again. **SPLASH** SPLASH** SPLASH** The girls screamed. Christians eyes were closed tight, and Jay and Jordan end part three :)
