She was a daughter. She was a sister, and a friend. She was even a grandmother and aunt. But mostly, she was our mom. Ever since I can remember, she was mommy. Cooking our meals, fixing our toys, bandaging our boo boos, and hugging us tight in our times of need and distress. Even as we grew older, she would watch us patiently travel our paths, trying her best to guide us in the right direction. When we turned left instead of right and fell flat on our face, there was mom ready to lift us to our feet, and help us stand tall again. Guided by her faith in Jesus, her love always lit the way for those around her. But mom was not always a saint. She like us all, lived in this world and experienced her own share of love and loss, happiness and pain. But in time, her heart always came home to Jesus. With all our hearts scraped in this pain of loss, who do we turn to for that magical hug she so freely gave. Her entire life of love is still leading us. Looking for someone to hold us now in our time of need. But who? The same one, who has held her strong for so long. Thank you lord for the chance to have known your servant, our mother. She now has her wings and is flying higher than ever before. But she is not gone. She is in all our hearts and on our minds. No one can ever take that. As I look toward the heavens I see her. In the bright blue skies, and in the puffy white clouds. In the sunshine, and in the rain. Lots of what I know, and believe, I have learned from her. Yes she was a daughter, and a friend. A sister, an aunt, and even a grandma, but mostly, she was our mom. Lord we pray as a family and community, that you hold our beloved mothers in your arms. Free from the pains and struggles of this life, and healthy and blessed in the love of your new life. With Angels wings mom, may you fly high always. Godspeed, we love you!
