The Adventures of Mya and Jordan                                         Volume 5
                                                         The Adventure at the Zoo.
 Pop pop and grandma live close to here, right mom, said Jordan inquisitively. Yes, said Amanda, as she made the last turn toward the zoo. They live just over the mountain. Mom, mom, that looks like Max in the parking lot, said Mya. It is bellowed Jordan, and there's Ayla too.  Ayla and Max are Mya and Jordan’s cousins. Aunt Kim is Max’s mom, and Aunt Alex is Ayla's mom. Amanda parked the car. Max and Ayla were already opening the doors to greet their cousins. Hey guy's you made it, said Jordan. Yea we did said Max. We would never miss a chance to come to the zoo said Ayla, we love it here. 
As everyone was saying hello, the moms unloaded from the cars, what they needed for the day inside the zoo. The zoo has a big fence all the way around it, and the only way out, is the same way you go in. So going back to the car for our lunch later, would be too, too far.  Ok, everyone hold hands said Aunt Kim as they crossed the street. What does that sign say mom, asked Ayla? Alex read the sign out loud for everyone to hear." Space Farms Zoo and Museum, Wantage, New Jersey". The zoo is located in the heart of rural Sussex County. It is surrounded by woods and farms. It is one of New Jersey's most peaceful areas. The perfect place for such a beautiful zoo.  
    The main entrance, opens into a huge room, with an eating area, a snack bar, a gift shop, and the whole building is also a museum. It has very old toys, tools, Indian artifacts, and stuffed animals all over. There is a stuffed Kodiak bear right in the middle, it is the largest bear I have ever seen.  Then there is the door to the inside of the zoo. 
  I want a hotdog, said Max holding his tummy like he was starving. Me too said Jordan. I want to buy souvenirs said Mya. I want a nice Space Farms Zoo shirt say Ayla proudly. Their moms all laughed. We can look around in here after the zoo, said Amanda. And we already have our lunch. You boys will just have to wait. One by one, the lady at the register stamped their wrists with the little blue, zoo logo. That lets you go in and out all day, said the lady. 
  Ok gang, here we go. On the other side of that door; wait said Jordan loud and excited, we need to get bags of food to feed the animals. Ayla smiled at Jordan holding up a huge bag with many little bags of food inside. Oh, ok chuckled Jordan, just making sure. Alright said Amanda, on the other side of that door is the zoo. Remember the buddy system. Stay together.   With that, Max pushed the door open. Of course all four kids tried to squeeze through the door at once. One at a time, said Aunt Kim. In just a few seconds everyone was out the door into the zoo. The sky was blue and the sun was shining bright. The grass was green and all the trees were full of life. There were birds everywhere. There were ducks and chickens running around wild and lots of other funny looking birds too. First we came to a small petting area. There were baby goats, baby sheep, and even baby pigs. Wow said Ayla, this is already my favorite part. But we have just started, said her mom Alex laughing. 
 Naturally the kid's lead the way. Jordan held the small map of the zoo in his hand. Holly molly said Mya, look at those bears. Max backed up a little. I think he might have been frightened. Jordan and Ayla were right up against the fence. I swear if they could get inside they would have. It's a good thing there are two fences around the more dangerous animals. They all slowly walked the paths, looking at the animals along the way. There were deer, lions, tigers, monkeys, bison, pigs, horses, groundhogs, raccoons, more bears, pea cocks, kangaroos, and so much more.
 About half way through the zoo, they laid out the blankets on the ground, and set up for their picnic lunch. It was a good time to rest their legs, and, go to the bathroom. So much for the boys being hungry said Kim, as they were playing and running about. Mya and Ayla ate fast and were right up with the boys. Alex, Kim, and Amanda, continued to sit and eat, and talk while the children were roaming around.  
   Look guys said Jordan. That big tree has a hole in it. The four kid's again, just like at the door, all tried to crawl in at once. Get out, yelled Jordan. I found it, I will go in first. Mya, Ayla, and Max, backed up a little. All of a sudden Jordan was getting pulled into the hole and down under the tree. Max grabbed hold of Jordan’s foot. Then Max was also being sucked inside. Ayla and Mya each grabbed one of Max’s feet. Then swoosh! All four of them were sucked down into the hole.
